FA Superhero League to boost U16s next season

The Norfolk FA Superhero League growing its U16 division for the new season

" In the 2026/27 season, Norfolk FA Superhero League are super pleased to announce that we will be expanding to an U16 division which provides a full playing pathway for players to filter through as they progress," says the League's Anoushka Williamson.

" This means that players can have peace of mind that they can play from when they are U8 all the way through to U16. Whether players wish to go through all age categories, or use it as a placeholder for something else, the league acts as a stepping stone and a door for opportunity."

The Norfolk FA Superhero League was founded in 2024 to combat the lack of playing opportunities for children with disabilities in Norfolk. This league was set up by Norfolk FA, ans is volunteer led and co-ordinated. 

" A key element of the league is to create an inclusive and fun matchday environment. Although the league is scored, the emphasis is on a fun and inclusive environment, where the children's fun is the priority," says Anoushka. "The league happens monthly in a round-robin style at a central venue, with a room available for children and parents to relax in should they need. We also put on fun activities and games led by qualified coaches. Another highlight for Youth Leaders is that a large part of the committee is made up of young people, who are passionate about the game, as well as all referees being young leaders from the participating clubs."
